THE BRANCHES STORY

Branches began when 6 people moved to San Francisco to see God start new churches in the city. Over the last few years we have been able to see God bring people together of different ages, nationalities, and backgrounds to form a church that isn’t fancy but a true loving family of followers of Jesus.

2019 -Jake and Hali move to the city with plans to launch a new church in the Sunset district of San Francisco Easter of 2020.

July 2020 -Covid slows down the church planting process but a small group begins meeting for Bible Study and Prayer.

Winter 2020 - Those few members begin hosting neighborhood street clean ups to serve our city.

Spring 2021 - Branches hosts first public church service on Easter of 2021.

Summer 2021 - Branches host’s interest parties to invite others to join the new church launch team.

Fall 2021 - Branches launches with 25 launch team members and 55 people at the Grand Opening Service September 19, 2021

Since the Launch September 2021, Branches has been able to serve our city in multiple ways, impact hundreds of people, and for a strong community that loves and supports each other. We cannot wait to see how God continues to work through this church for His glory and the good of all people.

WE ARE BRANCHES

  • BRANCHES: We get our name from John 15:5 where Jesus calls his followers Branches in a metaphor. Jesus is the True Vine that sustains us as his Branches and we are meant to make a difference in this world (bearing fruit) for Him.

    VISON: Branches exists to CONNECT people ot JESUS, SERVE our NEIGHBORS, and MAKE DISCIPLES of ALL NAITONS.

    VALUES: 1. Abide in Jesus. 2. Bear Fruit. 3. Serve All. 4. Pray Always. 5. Give Radically. 6. Be As One

  • Branches is an Independent Baptist Church.

    Independent = non denominational / not affiliated with a denomination.

    Baptist = follow the Bible not man made traditions.

    Church = becoming followers of Jesus that are being changed by Jesus and committed to the mission of Jesus to spread the good news to all people.

  • Branches is a family committed to bearing each others burdens and making a difference in our community by serving our neighbors and sharing the joy and hope of Jesus Christ.

    We invite all to find their church family at Branches.
